Townhouses, Apartments, and Condos planned for GEICO campus

Twenty-eight years after submitting plans, the GEICO site in Friendship Heights is going to be redeveloped. EYA will be purchasing the parcel with the plan to turn the 26-plus acre wooded campus into a multi-family and town house development. The plan includes 175-185 4 story townhomes, three 6 to 7 storyy multi-family appartments/condos with 96 condos and 240-250 apartments. They have started the development process with their May 6 site plan submission. This starts the 120 day countdown to meeting with the Planning Board for approval, currently scheduled for July 31, 2026.

EYA has asked for a variance to remove all the mature trees including these along the GEICO driveway.

EYA asks to Remove All Large Trees at GEICO Site

The site plans for the proposed development at GEICO site include asking for a variance so that they can remove almost all the specimen sized trees on the 29 acre campus to make room for apartments and town houses. The impact to the environment of the lost of every mature shade tree cannot be overstated.
