The Capital Crescent Trail Restoration project began in June 2021 as a partnership between the Coalition for the Capital Crescent Trail (CCCT) and Little Falls Watershed Alliance. The CCCT, founded in 1986, is a advocacy/stewardship group for the Trail. They were hoping to extend their stewardship and address the growing problem of vines killing the trees along the Trail. They sought help in removing invasives from the Little Falls Watershed Alliance and a partnership was formed. After exploring different sections of the trail for monthly work days, the intersection of the trail at Little Falls Parkway was selected mostly because there is ample parking at the Bethesda Pool and it is easy to access this part of the trail by foot, carrying heavy tools.

While Little Falls Watershed Alliance provides tools, supervisors, volunteers from both organizations are invited to community workdays, as well as members of the community. Please visit our event page and join us for our next work day.

Highlighted area is the focus of recent work on removing the non-native invasives from the trail. We have been holding monthly workdays in this area since December 2022.
