Learn about the natural features and history that led to this precious urban greenspace’s existence. Identify keystone and ambassador species that live in this critical connective watershed ecosystem. Share knowledge with experts to combat invasive species, and conserve and foster a healthy biodiverse community. Kick off & support the Norwood Park Arboriculture (Tree) Project. Join this LOCAL NATURALIST COMMUNITY to have fun!

Free the Trees - Weed Warrioring

Join us to remove non-native invasive vines and shrubs that are killing the trees.

Two sessions - sign up for one, or come for both! We have gloves and tools to lend. Dress in long pants and closed-toed shoes to protect from angry thorns. Pre-approved for MCPS SSL hours. Children under 14 MUST be accompanied by a supervising adult.

Join us to learn about the history of the area, the natural features, native plants and more. We have a series of talks planned with each topic presented two or three times . Come for one, or stay for them all.

Tree Tours

Norwood park has over 50 species of trees. Join LFWA Arborists for a tree centric tour of the park.

Our naturalist will help you get to know the trees of the Park as the unique individuals they are. Learn how to identify them and enjoy each through seasons and years. We’ll visit 6 to 12 depending on time.
