Stream Monitoring

Sat, 02/23/2019 - 10:00am - 1:00pm

Rescheduled from February 16:

You are invited to join our stream team to at their winter monitoring.  Our team participates in the Audubon Naturalist Society Water Quality Monitoring Program.  We  conduct habitat assessments and collect and identify “benthic macroinvertebrates,” small organisms that live in the streams. Because these organisms exhibit a range of sensitivities to pollutants and stressors, they help us determine the streams’ health.

If you are interested in joining us, please contact Sarah Morse at stormwater@lfwa.org for details.  Appropriate for ages 14 and older (with parent supervision).

If you are interested in learning more about the ANS program, visit their website at https://anshome.org/water-quality-monitoring/   Be sure to scroll down to see their list of classes.
